Are there emerging technologies or developments in manufacturing operations I should brush up on? I've been out of the game for just under two years. I'm looking for the names of some of the hottest/best inventory management platforms. I'm dealing with small and mid-size operations so far. Don't want to overlook winners -- obvious or obscure. THANKS.

Hey Dan-

The latest in inventory management is moving the function to the cloud.  This is essential especially for companies that are challenged with omni-channel fulfillment.  You may want to check out one such company, Yantriks, which has evolved from the on-premise solution to the cloud approach. You might also want to check out Zenventory.

Hi Dan,

Cloud based solutions are the norm (becoming the norm). My most recent experience is with an Oracle cloud based solution called NetSuite.

It's good, can be tuned to what you needs. Not all modules need to be turned on.

The other application you may want to consider if this is for a mfg. environment is coupling the ERP solution with a product lifecycle management application (PLM) like Arena, Omnify or Agile.

The core function of each of these is to manage product changes via ECO's. I'm noting this because in any Mfg. environment, there will be design changes that have to be linked to inventory cut-in strategies.

The good PLM packages either already have adapters that link to ERP systems or facilitate adding on adapters where you can transfer revision controlled documents out of the PLM application and into the purchasing and inventory control modules of the ERP system.

Knowing what product revisions you have in stock, want in stock and what you have in the field should all be tightly linked in order to manage your inventory effectively.

Good luck,

Bryan

Hi Dan Zautis! Thank you for sharing a query with us here.

As you are looking for inventory management software, in such a scenario, I would suggest BTHAWK as one of the best Stock Management Software.

I am running a 4 venture in the IT industry for 10 years. I bought BTHAWK last year and its been 9 months I m using this. Through BTHAWK, I am able to manage stock or inventory of all 4 ventures at a time. And, I am happy to use it as it took the burden of recording, maintaining stock and let me focus on other core business activities.

I would suggest you have a look at it once.

To know more visit.... BTHAWK

Thank You
