Dear Patina Colleagues,

Do you have a preference for an email service platform?  What is your favorite? and What features do you rely on most?

Thank you for comments, advice. Marigrace McKay

Hi Marigrace,

I now you Kajabi to to manage all aspects of my business, including the email marketing feature.

Prior to Kajabi, I used ConvertKit. The ability to create Lead Pages, tag Email Campaigns, and segment my list was the the deciding factor. My impression was that ConvertKit was superior to Aweber, Constant Contact, and MailChimp.

Hope this helps,

Howard

Hi Marigrace

I do not have an overwhelming preference. I've found them to be very competitive to each other. I personally feel what ever one you get most comfortable with and get used to so you don't waster too much time learning how best to optimism.

That said, I've used MailChimp most often.

Best of luck, Ric

Marigrace,

I use MailChimp, as do a majority of my Public Relations colleagues who use it for their own newsletters and for their clients. MailChimp is FREE for the first 2,000 subscribers, easy to use, intuitive and more. I see no reason to pay for Constant Contact.

FYI, here is my latest issue: How You Can Stand Out as a Conference Attendee http://bit.ly/2m0xfb4

I publish a simple quarterly newsletter ( https://mailchi.mp/184cb284c40a/volume-10-of-our-newsletter-on-character-leadership-and-strategy ) using MailChimp. First of all, I think that MailChimp is fairly easy to use. Best of all, for the level that I am at, MailChimp is free, as Janet Falk already mentioned.

Hi Marigrace:

I’ve used ConstantContact for a >1 year period with >10,000 contacts.  I’ve also integrated it with Salesforce as well as websites.

Overall it worked very well and the reports were clear and accessible.  The website was generally stable and their customer service was polite.

I have some gripes on the UI for content creation but that is sort of normal across the board.  I recommend triple checking the test emails on every single campaign.

Do note they don’t offer early cancellations, so once you buy for a term you can’t get a refund.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Joe Aurilia

All of them are very good and competitive in price as well. Mail Chimp integrates with more platforms and so makes it easier to work with.

Good luck,

Poonam

Fellow Patina community members:

I have built, advised, and funded a bunch of companies.  The key problem of how to efficiently and easily reaching, engaging, and ultimately closing clients is one of the biggest challenges ALL organizations face.  Given the fractured / partial solutions (mailchimp, constant contact, buffer, Hootsuite, etc..) and the operational costs of all of them, I thought we needed better so I funded a new approach.  It is early, but they have a good solution and customers.    Take a look at http://sky.skywriter-saas.com.  The solution provides contact / list management, content management, email, social, and web campaigns in a single solution with integrated analytics and tracking..

Has some unique features that the others (even collections of other tools) don't.  Specifically, it allows you to create portals of content/campaigns that your can pass to your channels.  It's worth a look..
